Leif Eriksson, M.D., Ph.D., Medical advisor

Leif has a strong scientific expertise in Respiratory Medicine and organ transplantation, with a PhD. from the Department of Respiratory Medicine, University Hospital, Lund, Post Doc experience from The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. He is an author of more than 40 scientific papers. He acted as a Medical Director of the Lung Transplant program and the adult Cystic Fibrosis unit Lund University Hospital before joining AstraZeneca. During his four years as Medical Science Director at AstraZeneca, Lund, Leif was instrumental in taking several lead candidates into clinical concept testing. Between 2011 and 2013 Leif held a position as Medical advisor in Transplantation/Immunology, at Astellas Pharma. Currently Leif is a Medical Director at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal.

Per Brunmark, Ph.D., Scientific advisor, bioanalysis and DMPK

Per has twenty year of experience in bioanalytical chemistry and metabolism from  academia, big pharma and biotech companies. He wrote his thesis on monitoring of carcinogens in man by  chromatography and masspectrometry. Per then worked in the field of chemical toxicology during two years as visiting  scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since 1996 he has primarily been working within the pharmaceutical  industry and his experience covers CNS and respiratory/inflammation. Currently Per is Director of Core Facility and Science  Support at Lund Life Science Incubator.

Kristian Riesbeck, M.D., Ph.D. Medical advisor

Kristian wrote his PhD thesis on antibiotics and the immune system. After two years as a Senior Postdoctoral Research Officer in London, he worked as Head of the Cell and Molecular Biology section at Pharmacia and Upjohn. He is also a Senior Consultant at the hospital in Malmö and teaches medical students in microbiology and immunology. Kristian has supervised 10 PhD students and has written 134 scientific papers. The long-term goal of the Riesbeck lab is to define new vaccine candidates as an approach to combat serious infections. Kristian holds a position as Professor in Clinical Bacteriology, Lund University

Jörgen Wieslander, Ph.D. , Scientific advisor

Jörgen Wieslander graduated 1974 from the University of Lund in Sweden in Chemistry and Biology. He did his PhD in 1983 also at University of Lund on the Characterisation of the Goodpasture antigen. Following that he moved to USA and did Post Doc studies with Billy Hudson between 1983-1985 on the chemistry of the glomerular basement membrane. After returning to Lund he became Professor of Experimental Nephrology in 1988 and continued the studies of anti-GBM and ANCA. He has supervised 10 PhD students and published 180 scientific papers. 1986 he took a position at BioCarb as head of Biochemistry Department and developed the commercial anti-GBM and ANCA ELISA tests. Between 1991 and 1994 he worked with Allan Wiik at Statens Seruminstitute in Copenhagen working on improving the ANCA testing. In 1991 he also started the Wieslab clinical laboratory serving the Swedish hospital with autoimmune testing. From 1994 he worked full time with Wieslab in the area of diagnostic testing until it was purchased by EuroDiagnostica where he became the Chief Scientific Officer 2005 and then scientific advisor until 2015.

PKxpert provides consultancy services, with expert knowledge in pharmacokinetics (PK), combined with broad experience in drug development from both big pharma and small biotech companies. PKxpert has extensive experience of small molecules as well as biologics, preclinical and clinical study designs, regulatory documentation including filing, quality assurance including audits and SOP documentation, and integration of PK with other faculties e.g. toxicology, drug metabolism, bioanalysis, statistics and pharmacology. Toxicology Knowledge Team (TKT)

Toxicology Knowledge Team (TKT) is a recently founded consultancy company, started by dedicated toxicologists from AstraZeneca, Safety Assessment, Sweden. TKT can provide toxicological expertise to pharmaceutical projects, from safety assessment of potential drug targets to later phases with design, monitoring and review of toxicology and safety pharmacology studies, as well as the generation of regulatory documentation. We support companies and organizations that require expertise and advice in industrial hygiene and REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of CHemicals). TKT has unique expertise in in silico analysis, and provides QSAR predictions for genotoxicity and other severe toxicity. TKT can also provide toxicological investigations and risk assessment of medical devices within the ISO 10993 standards.
